EMS explained
What is EMS training?
A method from elite sport — today it's open to everyone. Explained in a few minutes: how it works, what it does and who it suits.

How it works
The suit amplifies every movement — you control the intensity.
Explained in three steps: what actually happens during EMS training.
Suit on, electrodes in place
You put on the EMS suit. Dry electrodes sit directly on the major muscle groups — no wet vest, no gel, no tangle of cables.
You tense, the suit amplifies
Your trainer controls the impulse intensity while you move in a controlled way. Every contraction gets an extra boost — right down to the deep muscle layers.
20 minutes are enough
Up to 90% of your skeletal muscles work at the same time. A session lasts 20 minutes and 1–2 per week is the recommendation. That's all it takes.
What you get out of it
More than just muscle.
EMS works on strength, back, metabolism and joints at the same time — documented, not just claimed.
A stronger back
EMS trains the deep muscle layers that conventional workouts often struggle to reach. Scientific studies show that back pain can be reduced about as effectively as with classic back training — in considerably less time.
Metabolism & fat loss
High muscle activity during the workout plus an afterburn effect. Train regularly 1–2× a week and you typically see the first changes after 8–12 weeks.
Strength & muscle growth
The impulses also reach deep-lying muscle fibres that are hard to activate on your own. Studies show +23% maximum strength in beginners and +33% in athletes.
Easy on the joints & safe
You work against electrical impulses — no heavy weights, no load on knees, hips or spine. That makes it especially gentle on sensitive joints.
Research basis includes Kemmler et al. (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, 2017–2021). Results are averages from controlled studies — individual results may vary.

Straight talk
EMS is no miracle. But it's damn efficient.
20 minutes per session, 1–2 times a week — the same training stimulus as a studio session twice as long.
Straight talk
Myths vs. facts.
The four most common concerns — and what's really behind them.
01EMS is painful.
You feel muscle contractions and occasionally a light tingling on the skin — not pain. You set the intensity yourself and match it to what feels right for you.
0220 minutes can't be a proper workout.
The impulses activate up to 90% of your muscles at once — including the deep muscle layers. Studies show effects comparable to longer conventional strength training.
03EMS builds muscle, but does nothing for your back.
The back is exactly where EMS is strongest: the deep muscle layers that are hard to reach get trained along the way. In randomised controlled trials, lower back pain dropped significantly.
04I'm too out of shape or too old for EMS.
EMS is especially easy on the joints. We train beginners from 18 just as we train members over 70. Sensitive pre-existing conditions should be checked with a doctor beforehand.
Is EMS right for you?
Does any of this sound like you?
We'd rather be honest up front than have unhappy members later.
EMS is exactly your kind of training if …
- Full-time job or family — little time for the studio
- Back trouble, desk job or tension
- Personal guidance instead of clanking machines
- Training flexibly in the studio and at home
Recognised at least two of them? Then a free trial session is worth your while — 60 minutes including body analysis, no obligation.
Not a fit if
When we can't train you.
- Pregnancy
- Pacemaker / electrical implants
- Neurological conditions (e.g. epilepsy, MS)
- Acute infections, fever or tuberculosis
- Severe cardiovascular disease
- Advanced diabetes mellitus
- Cancer / tumour conditions in active treatment
Have sensitive pre-existing conditions checked by a doctor beforehand — at the trial session we go through the questionnaire together.
